Acre Map Poster & Print
Acre, known in Hebrew as Akko, sits on a small peninsula at the northern end of Haifa Bay, on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. From above, its old city is unmistakable. Thick sea walls follow the shoreline on the west and south, land walls close the peninsula to the north and east, and inside them a dense maze of alleys, courtyards and markets fills almost every space.
The city has been a port for thousands of years, and its layers are visible in its buildings. Beneath the Ottoman-era town lie extensive Crusader halls and tunnels, and the old city was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2001. In 1799, its walls held against a siege by Napoleon, whose campaign in the region ended there.
Beyond the walls, the modern city spreads north and east along the bay. An Acre map poster frames the old city against the sea, with its harbour, walls and tight lanes forming one of the most striking historic outlines on the Mediterranean coast.

Old city lanes
Inside the walls, narrow alleys and courtyards form an intricate, irregular texture that contrasts with the broader streets of the modern city.
Fishing harbour
A small harbour on the southern side of the peninsula is enclosed by walls and breakwaters, adding a sheltered curve of water to the map.

Acreを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Acre suits anyone who has walked its walls, visited its markets or has family ties to the Galilee coast. The walled peninsula is a rare shape, and it reads as clearly on paper as it does from the air.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a date or a family name. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a $9 digital download or a printed poster.
