Ridge-top roads
Main roads follow the higher ground and wind across the slopes, so their curves reveal the shape of the land beneath them.

Al Qawāsim Map Poster & Print
Al Qawāsim is a town in the Jabal al Gharbi district of northwestern Libya, in the upland area often called the Nafusa Mountains. This escarpment rises above the coastal plain of Tripolitania, and towns here were traditionally built on ridges and plateau edges, with farmland and olive groves on the surrounding slopes.
From above, the settlement follows the shape of the terrain. Roads run along high ground and descend into valleys in long curves, and buildings gather along those routes rather than filling a neat grid. Between settlements, the land opens into dry country marked by wadis and tracks.
An Al Qawāsim map poster reflects this relationship between town and landscape. The street pattern thins out quickly into open ground, and the curving roads hint at the relief of the mountains even without contour lines. It is a spare, understated composition for anyone with personal ties to the area.

Dispersed settlement
Buildings cluster along the roads instead of forming a single dense core, giving the map a loose and open pattern.
Wadis and tracks
Dry valleys and unpaved tracks cross the surrounding country, adding faint lines to the wide empty spaces around the town.

Al Qawāsimを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
For families from the western mountains living elsewhere, a map of the home town is a way to keep its roads and landmarks close. It records the place plainly and respectfully, without decoration.
You can write the title in Arabic script or Latin letters, add a subtitle, a date or the coordinates line, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the dry upland setting.
