Amarpātan is a town in northeastern Madhya Pradesh, in the Satna and Maihar area of the Vindhya region. It serves as a local market and administrative centre for the surrounding villages, and from above it shows a dense, irregular core of lanes and bazaar streets, with newer housing spreading outward along the roads that connect it with neighbouring towns.
The landscape around it is part of the Vindhyan plateau, a region of flat to gently undulating farmland interrupted by low ridges, ponds and seasonal streams. On the map, fields form a broad, lightly textured background, village roads branch across it, and the town itself appears as a concentrated patch of streets where these routes come together.
