Amīngarh is a town in the Bagalkot district of northern Karnataka, on the dry, open land of the Deccan plateau. The surrounding countryside is broad and mostly flat, given over to farming, with low rocky hills in the distance. On the map, the town appears as a compact cluster of streets beside a main road.
The town is widely known for karadantu, a rich sweet made with dry fruits, jaggery and edible gum, which carries the town's name across Karnataka and beyond. Shops selling it line the road through town, and the main road forms the clearest line on the map, with lanes spreading out from it.
