Arsikere is a town in Hassan district in the south of Karnataka, set on the rolling Deccan plateau between Bengaluru and the western hills. On a map it shows as a moderate cluster of streets spread around a railway junction, with lines diverging in several directions across the surrounding fields.
The station is one of the region's significant rail junctions, and the town's growth follows the tracks closely. Arsikere is also home to a Hoysala-era temple dedicated to Shiva, a reminder of the architectural tradition that shaped this part of Karnataka, and the area around it is known for coconut farming.
