Bage'awati Map Poster & Print
Bage'awati lies in southwestern Xinjiang, China, in the oasis belt at the western edge of the Tarim Basin, in the Yarkand area. Life here depends on water flowing down from the mountains, and the town sits in cultivated land surrounded by desert beyond.
From above, the oasis has a clear, ordered pattern. Irrigation channels and roads run in straight lines, often lined with rows of poplar trees, dividing the land into long plots. A Bage'awati map poster shows how the town's streets connect to this network of fields and canals.
The settlement itself is modest, a mix of streets, courtyard houses and newer buildings along the main roads. At the edges of the map, the fields end abruptly and dry ground begins, one of the sharpest boundaries a landscape can draw.

Poplar rows
Lines of trees along roads and channels act as windbreaks, adding a fine, repeated edge to many of the map's straight lines.
Desert boundary
Beyond the cultivated area, the land turns dry and nearly empty, a clear edge between oasis and desert.
