Ban Chalong is a community in southern Phuket, Thailand, on the shore of Chalong Bay. The bay is a wide, sheltered inlet on the island's east coast. Chalong Pier juts out into it and serves as a departure point for boats to nearby islands. From above, the coastline and pier are the first features you notice.
Inland, the roads meet at a busy roundabout and spread out through the lowlands. Wat Chalong, the largest and most visited Buddhist temple on Phuket, is a short distance from the bay. To the west, the Nakkerd Hills rise, and the Big Buddha statue on their summit can be seen from much of the south of the island.
