Bandar Tasik Puteri is a residential township near Rawang in the Gombak district of Selangor, north of Kuala Lumpur. Tasik means lake, and on a map water is the defining feature: several large ponds sit within and around the estates, many linked to the tin mining that once shaped the Rawang area, giving the layout irregular, flowing shapes.
The township was developed over recent decades as Kuala Lumpur's suburbs pushed northward along the highways and rail line towards Rawang. Its streets are made up largely of terraced and semi-detached housing, arranged in neighbourhood blocks with local shops, schools and places of worship, with open green land still visible at its edges.
