Bangkalan Map Poster & Print
Bangkalan is the main town of the westernmost regency of Madura, the island that lies off the northeast coast of Java. On a map, the town sits near the island's west coast, where the Madura Strait narrows. Its streets form a moderately dense network around a central square, surrounded by villages and farmland.
Outside the centre, the pattern loosens quickly. Roads lead along the coast and inland to smaller settlements, with rice fields and dry farmland filling the spaces between them. To the south, the regency reaches the landing point of the Suramadu Bridge, which has linked Madura to Surabaya since 2009.
Madura is known for karapan sapi, its traditional bull races, and for a strong regional culture of its own. A Bangkalan map poster shows the town, its coastal roads and the shoreline of the strait in quiet black-and-white linework.
