Bhiloda is a town in the Aravalli district of northern Gujarat, close to the state's border with Rajasthan. The surrounding country marks the southern end of the Aravalli hills, an old and worn range whose low ridges and wooded slopes define much of this part of the state. The area has a substantial tribal population, and Bhiloda serves as a market and administrative centre for villages spread across the hills.
On a map the town is a compact core of streets around its market area. From there roads lead out into the hill country. The pattern loosens quickly into lanes and field boundaries, and seasonal streams trace thin lines through the valleys. The relief is gentle but constant, so few roads run in straight lines for long.
