Boissy-Saint-Léger lies in the Val-de-Marne, southeast of Paris, at the point where the dense suburban fabric of the capital starts to loosen. On a map, the older village core is a small knot of streets around the church, while newer residential quarters spread out in looser loops and cul-de-sacs, with main roads fanning out toward neighbouring communes.
The town is the terminus of one branch of the RER A, and the railway line arriving from Paris is one of the clearest features of the drawing. To the south and east, large green areas take over: the grounds of the Domaine de Grosbois, long associated with trotting horses, and wooded land that turns much of the map into open space.
That balance between built streets and broad parkland is what makes a Boissy-Saint-Léger map poster distinctive.
