Bongor Map Poster & Print
Bongor lies on the east bank of the Logone River in southwestern Chad, directly across from Cameroon. From above the town follows the river: a grid of sandy streets along the bank, a riverfront where boats cross, and beyond it wide, flat plains that flood during the rainy season.
The town is the capital of Mayo-Kebbi Est Province and a market centre for the surrounding farmland, where rice is grown in the floodplain. The border runs down the middle of the river, so the water is both a transport route and an international boundary.
A Bongor map poster shows the town and river as one composition. The Logone winds across the sheet, the regular streets lie against its bank, and the open plain fills the rest of the map with quieter, softer shapes.

Floodplain fields
Around the town the land is low and flat, flooding seasonally, and its fields and channels create a soft pattern around the streets.
Street grid
The town centre is laid out in fairly regular blocks near the river, forming a compact, orderly core in the middle of the plain.
