Bossembélé lies in Ombella-M'Poko prefecture, northwest of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. Its importance comes mainly from its position. The main road from Bangui reaches the town and then divides, with one branch heading west toward the Cameroon border and another continuing north into the interior. On the map, that junction is the defining feature.
Around the crossroads, the town spreads out in a loose pattern of streets and compounds that becomes more open toward the edges. Beyond it lies wooded savanna, crossed by tracks and small streams. The main roads stand out as the strongest lines, arriving from the southeast and leaving in two clear directions.
