The Chari River
The river curves past the town as a wide band of water with sandbanks and channels. It is the strongest and most recognisable shape on the poster.

Bousso Map Poster & Print
Bousso is in Chad's Chari-Baguirmi region, southeast of N'Djamena, on the Chari River. The river is the country's great water artery, flowing north toward Lake Chad, and Bousso's position beside it defines both its map and its daily life.
From above, the river dominates. The Chari appears as a broad, meandering band with sandbanks and side channels, and the town's streets are laid out on the dry ground along its bank. Beyond the settlement the map opens into flat country crossed by a few roads and tracks.
The landscape is seasonal, and the river's width and surrounding floodplain change markedly between the wet and dry months. A Bousso map poster captures a single moment of that relationship: a modest town, a large river, and the open plain in which both sit.

Riverbank settlement
Bousso's streets sit on the ground beside the river, a compact grid that follows the curve of the bank.
Open plain
Around the town the map becomes spare, with only a few roads and tracks crossing the flat Sahelian land.
