Brooklyn Park is a suburb of Minneapolis in Minnesota, northwest of the city, with the Mississippi River forming its eastern boundary. From above it is typical of post-war American suburbs: curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs, long arterial roads on a rough grid, and interstate highways cutting across the southern part.
It is one of the larger suburbs in the Twin Cities area and has become one of the most diverse. Parks, creeks and open land break up the housing, and the northern part of the city keeps more open, semi-rural ground. The riverfront along the Mississippi adds a natural edge to the east side of the map.
