Campos Novos lies on the plateau of western Santa Catarina, and from above the town shows a regular grid of blocks set into a wide landscape of fields. The streets are straight and evenly spaced, and the town fills a well-defined area before thinning into the country roads that lead out across the plateau.
The region around the town is known for grain farming, and this shows on a map as long straight tracks and large parcels in every direction. The contrast between the compact urban grid and the open land around it gives the poster a clear, balanced shape.
