Chandili sits in the south of Odisha, in the hilly Rayagada country of the Eastern Ghats. From above, the town reads as a modest cluster of streets rather than a planned grid, with lanes branching off a few main roads and thinning out into farmland and wooded slopes. The map shows a place shaped by terrain and routes more than by any single centre.
Around the built-up area, the lines on the map loosen. Roads that are dense and short near the middle become long, gently curving threads heading out toward villages and larger towns nearby.
