Cikupa lies in the Tangerang area, west of Jakarta, along the main corridor toward the port of Merak. Its growth has been driven by industry. Factory estates, warehouses and logistics yards cover large parts of the district, and the map reflects this with big, simple blocks set against the fine grain of residential lanes.
A major toll road runs through the area, drawn as a strong line that cuts across the landscape and connects Cikupa to both the capital and the western tip of Java. Around it, older villages and newer housing developments fill the remaining space.
A Cikupa map poster shows a part of Greater Jakarta that is shaped by work rather than tourism. The contrast between broad industrial plots, winding kampung streets and the straight line of the highway gives the composition an unusual, graphic character.
