Craíbas lies in the agreste of Alagoas, the transition zone between the humid coast and the drier sertão further inland. On a map the town is small and fairly dense. A short grid of streets forms around a central core, and the built area ends quickly where fields and pasture begin.
Outside the urban centre, the map shows the typical pattern of the agreste. Unpaved roads and field tracks run out in several directions and link scattered farms and small rural communities to the town. The lines are thinner and less regular than the town streets, so the settlement stands out clearly as the densest point on the sheet.
