Cúa Map Poster & Print
Cúa lies in the Valles del Tuy in Miranda state, a low basin south of the coastal mountain range that separates it from Caracas. From above, the town fills a stretch of valley floor, with an older centre of regular blocks and newer neighbourhoods climbing onto the surrounding hills.
The Tuy river and its tributaries run through the basin, and their green, winding corridors break up the street pattern. A Cúa map poster shows that contrast between the tight grid of the historic centre and the looser, curving streets of the barrios on the slopes.
Cúa is the southern end of the suburban railway from Caracas, which opened in 2006 and turned the valleys into a commuter belt for the capital. The line and its station give the map a long, straight element running across the softer shapes of the valley.
