Valley ribbon
The town's streets stretch along the valley floor in a long, narrow band. Steep slopes on either side hold it in place.

Dingshi Map Poster & Print
Dingshi is in the far southeast of Chongqing municipality, in the Wuling Mountains near the borders with Hunan and Guizhou. This is steep, heavily folded country. Towns here can only grow where the valleys widen a little, so from above Dingshi appears as a narrow ribbon of streets threaded between hillsides.
The terrain decides almost everything on the map. Roads follow streams and switch back up slopes to reach outlying villages, and terraced fields and forest fill the space between. The built-up area is compact, and its edges are set by the mountains rather than by planning.
A Dingshi map poster turns that constraint into its strength. With long, sinuous roads and a small, dense centre surrounded by open ground, the composition feels calm and deliberate, and you can read the valley's shape from the lines alone.

Switchback roads
Roads leaving town climb into the Wuling Mountains in tight bends and long curves. They are the most graphic lines on the poster.
Mountain streams
Small rivers and streams follow the valleys, and the town and its roads trace the same paths through the ridges.

Dingshiを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
For people from this corner of Chongqing, the poster is a map of home that few other shops would ever print. Add a family name, a date or a line in any language to the title and subtitle, along with the exact coordinates.
The design comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital HD download includes six sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper, framed if you like.
