Seversky Donets bend
The river curves along the town and gives the map its strongest line, with wooded banks and floodplain marking a soft edge between the streets and the far shore.

Donetsk Map Poster & Print
Donetsk in Rostov Oblast is a small Russian town that shares its name with a much larger city across the border. On a map it sits beside the Seversky Donets, which loops past the town and gives the street plan its direction. Residential blocks, low houses and garden plots spread back from the water toward open steppe.
The town grew from the Cossack stanitsa of Gundorovskaya and was renamed Donetsk in the mid-twentieth century, when coal mining shaped its economy. That history shows in the layout: a compact centre, scattered mine-era districts and roads running out to the surrounding workings and farmland. The border with Ukraine lies only a short distance to the west.
A Donetsk map poster keeps things simple. The curve of the river, the thin lines of the rail spur, the grid of the older quarter and the loose edges where town meets field all stand out in black and white. It is a modest place, and on paper its shape looks steady and honest.

Stanitsa roots
Before it became Donetsk the settlement was the Cossack stanitsa of Gundorovskaya, and the older core near the river still reads as the original heart of the town.
Steppe edges
Beyond the last streets the pattern opens into field boundaries and country roads, a quiet frame that makes the compact town plan stand out on paper.
