Dongargarh is a town in the Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, known across central India for the hilltop temple of Maa Bamleshwari. The hill rises sharply above the town, and pilgrims reach the temple by a long flight of steps or by ropeway, making the height itself the most recognisable part of Dongargarh's setting.
On the map, the town gathers below and around the hill, with its streets filling the flatter ground. A major railway line on the Howrah–Mumbai route runs through Dongargarh, and the station area forms an important axis. Water tanks and ponds appear as rounded shapes among the neighbourhoods.
