Offin River
The river runs close to the town. Its winding course is the most organic line on the map and the natural edge of the built-up area.

Dunkwa Map Poster & Print
Dunkwa, often called Dunkwa-on-Offin, grew up beside the Offin River in the forested interior of Ghana's Central Region. The river gives the town its main natural line. On a map, the Offin winds past the built-up area, and streets gather around the crossings and main roads before thinning out into the surrounding green country.
The Offin valley has long been linked to gold, and mining has shaped both the town's economy and the land around it. The town also serves as a market and transport centre for the nearby communities, so the roads leading in from different directions matter as much to its outline as the river does.
A Dunkwa map poster shows the town in simple black and white: the curve of the Offin, the roads converging on the centre and the patchwork of streets between them. It is a careful record of a working river town that rarely appears on a wall.

Converging roads
Routes from neighbouring towns meet at Dunkwa. They give the street plan a hub-like shape, with activity concentrated where the roads join.
Forest margins
Beyond the town, the map quickly opens into empty space, reflecting the forest and farmland that surround the settlement on every side.
