Fuyang Map Poster & Print
Fuyang is a district of Hangzhou set on the Fuchun River, the stretch of the Qiantang system that flows out of the hills to the south-west. From above the river is the defining feature, broad and gently curving, with islands and sandbars in its channel. Newer districts spread along the northern bank in wide blocks, while the hills close in on both sides.
The Fuchun valley is the landscape of Huang Gongwang's fourteenth-century scroll Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, one of the most celebrated paintings in Chinese history. Fuyang is also traditionally linked to the Sun family of the Three Kingdoms period, and more recently it hosted events of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
