Ganshui Map Poster
Ganshui is a town in Qijiang District, in the southern part of Chongqing municipality near the border with Guizhou. The landscape here is strongly hilly, and on a map this shows at once: the built-up area does not spread evenly but follows valley floors and gentler slopes, while the roads between settlements twist to follow the contours of the ridges.
The result is an irregular, organic street pattern. Instead of a grid you see compact clusters of streets, roads that bend back on themselves as they climb, and routes that thread through narrow gaps in the terrain. Waterways and transport lines tend to share the same valleys, which is typical of this mountainous corner of southwest China.
