Gaogou Map Poster & Print
Gaogou is a town in Lianshui County, Huai'an, in northern Jiangsu. It lies on the broad, low plain of the Huai River region, where the land is almost perfectly flat and criss-crossed by canals, drainage channels and straight roads. The map reflects this: long, clean lines dividing the land into large rectangles.
The town centre is a compact cluster of streets, with newer residential and industrial areas growing out along the main roads. Waterways cut through and around the built-up area, and bridges carry roads across them at regular intervals. Beyond the town, fields and villages continue in an orderly pattern to the horizon.
A Gaogou map poster shows a place shaped by water management and agriculture. The town is also known in China for its long tradition of liquor distilling, with Gaogou baijiu among the country's recognised names. On the poster, however, it is the geometry of canals and roads that gives the town its character.
