Gevrai sits in Beed district in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, on the broad Deccan plateau. From above the town reads as a dense core of short, irregular lanes, the older part of the settlement, surrounded by a looser ring of newer plots and lanes that run out towards the fields. The contrast between that knotted centre and the open land around it gives the map its shape.
The roads leading in from neighbouring towns do most of the drawing here. They arrive as clean, confident lines across the plain and then break into a finer mesh once they reach the built-up area. On a monochrome print this creates a pleasing rhythm: long strokes at the edges, small cells in the middle, and very little that feels planned from above.
