Glen Avon lies in Riverside County, in the northwest of the Inland Empire, and is now part of the city of Jurupa Valley. On a map it has a looser grid than many Los Angeles suburbs. Its large blocks include residential streets, horse properties and open parcels, with the rocky Jurupa Hills to one side and the Santa Ana River corridor nearby.
Much of the area's layout reflects its semi-rural past, when larger lots were common and animals were kept on residential land. Major highways cross nearby and connect it with Riverside, Ontario and the wider Los Angeles region. Glen Avon became part of Jurupa Valley when the city incorporated in 2011.
