Gokwe is a town in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe, in the northwest of the province. It serves as the administrative and trading centre for a large rural district. On a map, the town is a compact grid of streets surrounded by open country, with long roads leading out toward villages and other towns.
The Gokwe area is known as an important cotton-growing region, and much of the land around the town is farmed. That agricultural setting appears on the map as wide open space crossed by tracks and small watercourses. The town's layout is fairly regular near the centre and looser at the edges.
