Gurupi Map Poster & Print
Gurupi is one of the main cities of Tocantins, in central Brazil, and grew up along the BR-153, the Belém–Brasília highway that opened the interior to settlement in the mid twentieth century. On a map the highway runs as a long straight line, and the city spreads beside it in a largely rectangular grid.
The streets are wide and regular, with blocks repeating in even rows and larger avenues crossing at intervals. At the edges, the grid simply stops against the savanna, the cerrado, which appears as open blank space. It is a young, planned-looking city, and that clarity makes it read cleanly in monochrome.
A Gurupi map poster shows the logic of a town built around a road and extended block by block. It is a fitting piece for people who live in southern Tocantins, for students of the local university and for anyone who has driven the long route between Brasília and the north.

Rectangular street grid
Most of the city is laid out in regular blocks of similar size, giving the map a calm, repeating texture across its whole area.
Edge of the cerrado
The grid ends abruptly against open savanna, so the city's outline is sharp and the surrounding blank space frames it clearly.
