Holalkere Map Poster & Print
Holalkere is in Chitradurga district in central Karnataka, on the dry upland plateau of the Deccan. The landscape here is open and rocky, with scattered hills and farmland. On a map the town forms a compact cluster of lanes, with main roads leading out across the plain to neighbouring towns.
Like many towns on the plateau, Holalkere relies on reservoirs known as tanks. These are shallow lakes held back by earth embankments. On a map they appear as irregular pools of water among the fields. Around the town, rocky rises and uncultivated patches break up the farmland.
A Holalkere map poster places the town's dense centre within its wider setting. It shows the lanes of home, the roads heading out across the plateau and the water and rocky ground beyond. It is a quiet, true portrait of a town in the Deccan interior.

Plateau roads
Main roads leave the town in several directions, cutting straight lines across the plateau. They link Holalkere with the district and the wider region.
Tanks and rocky ground
Reservoirs and rocky outcrops are scattered around the town. They add irregular shapes and texture to the open farmland on the map.
