Ponds and paddies
Fish ponds and rice fields fill much of the land around the town. They create a fine, varied pattern that covers most of the map.

Huangchuan Map Poster & Print
Huangchuan lies in the south of Henan province, within Xinyang, on the low plains of the Huai River basin. It is a wet landscape. From above, the town sits among rivers, ponds and reservoirs, with rice paddies and fish ponds filling much of the surrounding land.
The town has a dense older centre and more regular, newer districts on its edges. A small river flows through or beside the built-up area, and roads leave in several directions across the plain. Around the town, water and fields combine into a fine pattern of small rectangles and irregular pools.
The area is associated with the ancient state of Huang, from the Zhou dynasty, and the county's history goes back many centuries. A Huangchuan map poster shows a town in China's heartland, surrounded by the water and farmland of the Huai basin.

Town core
The older centre is dense and compact. Newer, more regular districts spread outward from it into the surrounding plain.
River lines
Small rivers and channels wind through the area and drain toward the Huai. They form soft, curving lines against the straight roads.
