Ivdel River
The river winds past the town through the forest. Its curving line is the main natural feature of the map and sets the town's position.

Ivdel’ Map Poster & Print
Ivdel’ is the northernmost town in Sverdlovsk Oblast, on the eastern side of the northern Urals. It sits on the Ivdel River, and on a map it is a small patch of streets surrounded by forest in almost every direction. The taiga here stretches for great distances, broken only by rivers, swamps and the occasional road or railway line.
The town has a remote and difficult past. In the Soviet period it was a centre of the Ivdellag camp system, and the region's timber and mineral resources drew people north. It is also the nearest town to the area of the 1959 Dyatlov Pass incident, which keeps its name familiar far beyond the Urals.
An Ivdel’ map poster shows a town defined by its isolation. The street grid sits beside the winding river, a railway approaches from the south, and forest fills the rest of the frame. The composition is sparse and striking, a small point of settlement in a very large northern landscape.

Compact grid
The streets form a small, fairly regular block beside the river, typical of Soviet-era northern towns built on flat ground.
Taiga expanse
Unbroken forest surrounds Ivdel’ on all sides. In monochrome it leaves wide open space that makes the town feel remote.

Ivdel’を選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Ivdel’ is hung by people who grew up in the northern Urals, and by those drawn to the region's history and wilderness. The small town in wide forest makes a spare, thoughtful poster.
