Jevargi is a taluk headquarters in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, on the open, black-soil plain of the northern Deccan. The Bhima river passes close by. On the map the town is compact: a dense cluster of older streets, a highway running through, and field boundaries stretching in every direction beyond the last houses.
The main road between Kalaburagi and Vijayapura is the dominant line, and much of the town's commercial life sits along it. Away from the road the pattern turns into narrow, irregular lanes, the typical grain of an old market settlement. A Jevargi map poster shows both: the straight modern route and the tight older quarter beside it.
The countryside around the town is farmed for crops suited to a dry climate, and the flat land means the map has few natural obstacles. The result is a clean, open composition with the river valley as its one soft, winding line.
