Jinzhongzi is a town in central Shandong, in the farming country of the Weifang area. Its map is shaped by the agricultural landscape around it: a compact built-up centre surrounded by long, straight field divisions, with village clusters dotted across the countryside and joined by narrow roads.
Much of the North China farmland near here has been laid out in regular strips and rectangles, and on a map this produces a strong, almost textile-like pattern. The town itself reads as a denser knot where roads converge, with blocks of housing and workshops set along the main streets.
