Kabo lies in northern Central African Republic, in the prefecture of Ouham-Fafa, not far from the border with Chad. The map shows a town spread across flat, open savanna, with a loose network of dirt roads and paths connecting compounds and fields. It has no dense core. The built-up areas form scattered clusters along the main routes instead.
Kabo is an important local centre in a region where roads are few and distances long. It has also served as a base for humanitarian work in the north of the country. Seasonal rivers and streams cross the surrounding land, swelling in the rainy season and shrinking in the dry months.
