Kalalé is a town and commune in the Borgou department of northeastern Benin, not far from the border with Nigeria. The surrounding country is broad savanna and farmland with few natural barriers, so the settlement spreads out freely.
From above, the town has a loose centre where the main roads meet. Compounds and small plots spread out from it, and the edges fade into cultivated land. Tracks run out in several directions toward outlying villages, and together they give the map a web-like shape.
