Kanungu Map Poster & Print
Kanungu is a town in the hilly southwest of Uganda, in a district that stretches from dense montane forest to open savannah. The town itself sits on uneven ground. On a map its streets are short and irregular, bending to fit the slopes, while the roads leading out of town wind across ridges and down into valleys.
The district includes the Buhoma area of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, known for its mountain gorillas, and the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where lions are sometimes seen resting in trees. Between these protected areas, the hills are divided into small farms and, on some slopes, tea gardens.
A Kanungu map poster shows a compact hill town surrounded by folded terrain and narrow valleys, with roads that twist through them toward the parks. Rendered in black and white, the landscape reads as a dense web of lines, closely tied to the shape of the land.
