Ridge roads
Main roads follow the crests of the hills. They give the map a winding, organic structure that responds directly to the landscape.

Kayanza Map Poster & Print
Kayanza is a town in northern Burundi and the capital of the province of the same name. It lies in hilly highland country near the border with Rwanda. The area is known for tea and coffee, and the Kibira forest lies not far to the west.
From above, Kayanza is shaped by terrain rather than a plan. Roads keep to the ridgelines and wind around the slopes, and the built-up area follows the higher ground. Between the roads, the land breaks into small cultivated plots, a pattern typical of the densely farmed hills of Burundi.
A Kayanza map poster draws the town's roads and streets in precise black line. They reveal how closely the settlement fits the shape of the land. It is a calm and honest image of a highland town, made for those who know it well.

Tea country
The surrounding highlands are among the tea and coffee growing areas of Burundi. The crops shape both the economy and the patchwork of the land.
Hillside growth
Homes and streets spread along the slopes below the ridges. They form an irregular, flowing pattern rather than a grid.
