Kehl Map Poster & Print
Kehl lies on the east bank of the Rhine in Baden-Württemberg, directly opposite Strasbourg. The river is the defining feature of the map, running as a wide band along the town's western edge, with the Kinzig joining it from the east. Harbour basins cut into the shore to the north, and the town's streets extend inland from the river toward suburbs and farmland.
For most of its history Kehl stood on a contested border, and the town was repeatedly damaged in conflicts between France and Germany. Today it is a symbol of the opposite. The Passerelle des Deux Rives, a footbridge opened in 2004, links the Garden of the Two Banks on both sides, and since 2017 Strasbourg's tram line has crossed the Rhine into Kehl.
A Kehl map poster shows this relationship clearly: the Rhine as a broad central line, the bridges that cross it, the port basins and the edge of Strasbourg's own streets on the far bank. Few maps capture a national border so literally, and so calmly, as a river spanned by everyday crossings.

Parkland on both sides of the river, joined by the Passerelle des Deux Rives, forms a shared green space that spans the border at its narrowest point.
Harbour basins
North of the centre, port basins cut rectangular shapes into the riverbank, adding strong geometric forms to the flowing line of the Rhine.
