Kellabine is a town in the Sfax governorate of eastern Tunisia, in the flat, dry interior behind the coast. The land around Sfax is known for its huge olive plantations, and on a map the surroundings of the town are dominated by that pattern: wide rectangular plots and straight tracks running for long distances.
The town itself is compact, a cluster of streets and houses around a few main roads, with the density falling off quickly into agricultural land. There are no rivers or hills to organise the view. Instead, the structure comes from roads and field boundaries, which give the landscape a regular, almost geometric appearance.
