Kihancha is a town in Migori County, in southwestern Kenya, not far from the border with Tanzania. It serves as a local administrative and trading centre for the surrounding Kuria area. From above it is small and open, a cluster of streets set among cultivated fields rather than a continuous city.
The map shows a few main roads doing most of the work. They pass through the centre, where shops and public buildings are concentrated, and then run out across the countryside. Minor tracks branch off between the plots, so the edge of town looks less like a boundary and more like a slow thinning of the pattern.
