Kotli Loharan lies in Sialkot District of Pakistan's Punjab, on the flat, fertile plain below the foothills to the north-east. On the map it appears as a tightly packed cluster of streets and lanes. The older core is a web of narrow, irregular alleys, and newer roads extend outward toward neighbouring villages and the city of Sialkot.
The name refers to the lohars, the ironworkers, and the town has long been linked with metalwork. It is especially associated with koftgari, the craft of inlaying gold or silver wire into steel. That tradition sits comfortably within the wider Sialkot area's reputation for skilled manufacturing, and it gives the small town a recognisable name well beyond the district.
