Kulu Map Poster & Print
Kullu, also spelled Kulu, lies in the valley of the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh. The river shapes everything on the map. It runs north to south through the town, and the roads and buildings line up along its banks because there is little flat ground. Beyond the valley floor, the contour-shaped roads switch back up the slopes toward villages and orchards.
The town is best known for Kullu Dussehra, a festival held each autumn on the Dhalpur ground. Deities from villages across the valley are carried there in procession. The region is also known for its woollen Kullu shawls, with their geometric borders, and for apple orchards, which cover many of the hillsides above the river.
A Kulu map poster reads almost like a cross-section of the Himalaya. A dense ribbon of streets follows the Beas, bridges stitch the two banks together, and the open space of Dhalpur appears as a clear gap in the urban fabric. Toward the edges of the frame, the lines thin into mountain roads that follow the land.
