La Paz Map Poster & Print
La Paz, capital of Baja California Sur, sits on the southern shore of a wide bay opening onto the Gulf of California. The city's map is defined by the curve of that shoreline. A regular grid of streets rises gently from the water, while the long waterfront boulevard, the malecón, traces the edge of the bay.
Across the water, a long, narrow sandbar called El Mogote shelters the inner bay and appears on the map as a pale strip of land. Beyond the city, roads thin out quickly into dry hills and desert, and the coastline continues northwards towards beaches and headlands.
La Paz is the gateway to Espíritu Santo island, part of a UNESCO-listed protected area, and to seasonal whale shark swimming in the bay. A La Paz map poster combines the calm grid, the curved shore and the sandbar into one clear composition.
