Laflèche lies on the South Shore across the St. Lawrence River from Montreal. It was once a small municipality of its own and is now part of Longueuil. On the map, it reads as a regular suburban fabric: parallel residential streets, long rectangular blocks and a few broader arteries that carry traffic toward the river and the bridges.
The pattern is typical of mid-twentieth-century Quebec suburbs. Streets run in steady rows, houses sit on even lots, and schools and parks fill gaps in the grid. Wider boulevards and highway corridors cut across the neighbourhood and link it to the rest of Longueuil and the island of Montreal.
