Liuhe is a county town in Tonghua, in the southern part of Jilin province in northeastern China. On a map, it sits in a valley among the hills that lead toward the Changbai range, with the built area stretching along the lower ground and farmland filling the flatter land around it.
The town's streets are mostly regular, laid out in blocks between a few main roads that follow the valley. The railway and the highways connecting Liuhe with Tonghua, Meihekou and other towns give the map its longer lines, while the surrounding ridges leave the edges quiet.
