Southern islands
The broad southern basin holds a cluster of islands, among them Inchmurrin, which appear on the map as a loose chain of solid shapes across the open water.

Loch Lomond Map Poster & Print
Loch Lomond has one of the most distinctive outlines in Scotland. Its southern basin is wide and dotted with wooded islands, while the northern half pinches into a narrow, fjord-like strip running between steep hills. By surface area it is the largest lake in Great Britain, and on a map the contrast between its two halves is immediately readable.
The loch lies within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Ben Lomond rises on the eastern shore, and the West Highland Way follows that side of the water for much of its length. The western shore carries a main road and a railway line, so one bank reads as busy linework and the other as open hillside.
A Loch Lomond map poster captures the scatter of islands in the south as small shapes floating in white, then lets the loch taper north toward the mountains. The Highland Boundary Fault crosses the loch near the islands, which helps explain why the landscape changes so sharply from lowland to highland along its length.

The narrow north
North of the islands the loch becomes a slim channel between steep slopes, giving the composition a long, tapering tail that draws the eye upward.
Two contrasting shores
Road and rail follow the western shore while the West Highland Way traces the quieter east beneath Ben Lomond, giving each bank a different density of line.

Loch Lomondを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
The bonnie banks mean a lot to people who grew up near Glasgow, walked the West Highland Way or spent summers on the water. The loch's long profile makes a poster that feels both geographic and personal, especially in a tall frame.
