Lolodorf lies in the South Region of Cameroon, inland from the coast at Kribi, in country covered by equatorial forest. Its name ends in the German word dorf, meaning village, a trace of the colonial period before the First World War. On a map the town is a modest cluster of streets around the main road, with forest close on every side.
The street pattern is informal and follows the rolling terrain. Lanes run along ridges and dip toward small streams. Roads lead out to neighbouring towns and villages as thin lines that disappear into large unmarked areas of woodland.
